00 Gundam Seven Sword/G

Kit Review

The 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G had been turning heads since the design stage with its flashy look, and it's finally gotten a kit release. Technically speaking, it belongs to the GNHW line — the same expanded armament series as the previously released Cherudim/Arios/Seravee — though it seems to have come out last of the bunch.

First off, the Seven Sword/G body is essentially the same as the standard 00 Gundam, with only the knee area modified to accommodate the GN Katars, plus a total of six new or revised weapons added. The GN Sword IIs that were mounted on the side skirts have been changed to Long-type and Short-type — the Long-type can be used in a two-handed rifle configuration, while the Short-type can have a wire connected in the middle to be used like a whip. The GN Katars, which look similar to the GN Shield II, are mounted on the sides of the knees, and the GN Sword II Blaster and GN Buster Sword II are fitted to the shoulders.

The clear green parts used throughout give it a prettier overall color scheme, and thanks to all those flashy weapons hanging off it, it looks pretty impressive despite being a small HG-sized kit. There's plenty of room for action poses using the various weapons, and the articulation is excellent so you can pull off just about any pose you want. Overall weapon attachment is solid, but strangely, the GN Sword II Short Type is the one exception — it feels a bit loose when mounted on the side skirt. (Might just be mine though..) So I put a bit of glue on the attachment point, let it dry, and tightened up the gap a little.

It's a great kit that packs a lot of flash into a small package — if you like the look of it, it's definitely worth picking up and building without hesitation. :-)
