Since this is essentially just the previous Astraea Type F's runners with the molded color changed, there's nothing particularly new here. It's based on the solid-quality HG Exia, so the quality is just as good, and while it doesn't quite match the weapon-packed Type F, all of Astraea's basic weapons are included.

Actually, back in February 2007 there was an Astraea conversion kit included as a bonus with Dengeki Hobby magazine — and looking at just the exterior parts, the shape and detail are nearly on par with this new HG release, which was pretty impressive for a magazine freebie. That said, since the bonus only came with a single exterior runner, it had no weapons whatsoever, so this HG is definitely the proper, complete kit. And of course, unlike the limited-run magazine bonus, this is a standard retail release that anyone can pick up easily, which is another plus.

It was always going to come out eventually, and it's a straightforward variation reusing the existing Type F, but it's a good-looking kit with solid quality — so if you're a fan of Astraea in a smaller scale, this is a perfectly satisfying HG kit. :-)
