This kit is the clear color version of the HG Gundam Exia, released as a limited edition for the 2008 Gundam Expo. Like other clear color versions, it keeps the original colors while switching to a transparent material.
The basic structure and features are 100% identical to the standard HG Exia, but unlike other clear color molded versions, the white body parts have a smoked treatment applied. In other words, instead of colorless transparent clear parts, they used slightly hazy, frosted clear parts. This actually gives it a bit more presence compared to a typical clear kit... though depending on how you look at it, it could also come across as a little dull.
Coated versions tend to have stiffer joints thanks to the added coating film, but with clear molded versions, joint strength is usually the same as the standard release or even slightly worse. Honestly, this Exia Clear Color version feels like the joint strength is a notch below the standard kit — my guess is that the material properties cause a bit more shrinkage after molding. The most noticeable examples are the GN Blades on the sides, which sit loosely, and the GN Drive-related parts done in clear green, which have weak connections and tend to pop off easily.
The joint strength on the main body is generally acceptable, but there are a few spots where you'll want to take a little extra care when pressing parts together, or might even need a dab of glue.
The clear color gives it a soft, slightly hazy look, but beyond that it's a limited edition without anything particularly special going for it. Still, it'd make for a fun little addition for Exia fans or anyone who's into clear versions. :-)
