Gundam AGE-1 Normal - Full Color Coating

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the HG Gundam AGE-1 Full Color Coating version, released as a 2012 Gunpla Expo limited edition. As you can see, unlike the semi-gloss coating of the Extra Finish style, this is a proper glossy coating limited edition that really shines — and the brilliance of that thick silver coating feels a step above previous coated limited editions. It looks like they improved something in the process, and the result is a gorgeous metallic sheen that's really something to behold. ^^

As you'd expect from a plated kit, the joint tolerances are tighter and things feel a bit stiffer, but thankfully it's not so tight that it becomes a struggle — the holding strength is actually excellent. The base kit's articulation is great to begin with, so as long as you keep fingerprints under control, this should make a fantastic display piece for action poses.

All in all, the upgraded coating quality pairs really nicely with the clean underlying kit, and the two together make for a great combination. If you're an AGE fan, this is definitely a limited edition worth going after. :-)
