Gundam AGE-1 Titus

Kit Review

Straight build

The fifth entry in the AGE HG lineup is the Gundam AGE-1 Titus, just like in the AG lineup. The design feels like the Normal version's limbs have been swapped out for a much more muscular build, which gives it a really hefty, heavyweight feel.

First off, as you'd expect from a modern HG, the color separation is excellent, and the articulation is smooth and flexible enough to rival most MGs. On top of that, the joint strength is solid too, making it easy and fun to pull off action poses. What makes it even more exciting is that despite the chunky design, you can still get a surprisingly wide range of natural-looking poses out of it.

The Titus comes with a generous amount of beam parts — 4 on each shoulder, 3 on each knee, for a total of 14 pointed beam parts, plus round beam parts that attach to both forearms. Combine all these beam parts with the flexible articulation, and you've got a kit that can pull off all kinds of fun action poses. ^^

The HG AGE lineup has been noticeably high in quality across the board — it almost feels like they're trying to win people over with sheer build quality, given that the series has a bit of an uphill battle in terms of pedigree. Honestly, the fit and finish is cleaner than most HGUCs out there, and the Titus in particular feels like a slight step up even from the original Normal version kit. Anyway, if you like the design, this is a fantastic action figure-style plastic model that's a blast to build and play with. :-)
