Kit Review

Straight build

Following the AG Adele, the HG Adele has now been released, and it comes out looking much cleaner thanks to a completely different level of color separation compared to the AG. Usually the AG tends to have better proportions thanks to its fixed joints, but in the Adele's case the proportions are pretty much on par — which somehow makes the gap between the AG and HG feel even bigger. ^^;

The Adele is a GM-style mass production unit through and through — the kind of workhorse mobile suit that's been a staple of the Gundam universe — and that straightforward, no-frills feel is honestly part of its charm (?). It's a clean, simple design, but what really stands out as a hidden selling point is just how surprisingly good the articulation is. The HG AGE lineup generally delivers above-average articulation across the board, but this HG Adele in particular has a really satisfying, snappy feel when you move it around. ^^ The foot grip when posing on a flat surface is especially impressive, and the leg angles feel more natural than just about any other kit out there.

This kit represents the pinnacle of what a clean, solid modern HG can be, and with its sturdy yet flexible joints and overall feel, I'd honestly call it one of the best action figures in the lineup. If you don't have any strong feelings against the design, it's a great kit worth building even if you're not particularly into AGE — a perfect cure for hobby burnout. :-)
