Kit Review
Straight build + Panel lining
Maybe they were thinking about durability given the large scale..
The shoulder wings and the white wing parts on the side skirts — which were articulated even on the HG — are completely fixed here.

Following the AGE-1 Normal, the AGE-2 Normal has now gotten the Mega Size treatment too. As you know, this is already a pretty bulky suit thanks to those shoulder wings, so I honestly didn't expect it to get a massive Mega Size release as well. ^^;
As you can see from the photos above, this thing is just absolutely enormous. ;; It's actually the tallest kit in the Mega Size lineup, standing a whopping 38cm tall — and if you factor in the shoulder wings, it's nearly 40cm. Those four wings on the shoulders fill up my entire mini photo studio, so the sheer volume of this kit is no joke.
Looking at the photos you might think "oh, it's just a bit big" — but seeing it in person, it's just unreasonably (;;) huge. Displaying it is out of the question; even storing it seems like a challenge. It takes up roughly the same space as four PG kits side by side, so yeah, it's a real head-scratcher in terms of size..
The overall kit composition is pretty much identical to the previous AGE-1, and the color separation is clean and generous as you'd expect from a large-scale kit. It's also surprisingly easy to build for its size — feels like it takes just a little bit longer than putting together a regular HG. That said, while the other Mega Size kits had solid joint strength thanks to good polycaps, the AGE-2 is just so big that the hip and ankle joints feel a bit worrying.. Even without the four shoulder wings it's manageable, but once you attach them, the legs tend to splay outward on their own, and there's a constant nagging feeling that the kit might topple forward. T_T
Thanks to its massive presence, even a simple pose looks incredibly dynamic — but yeah, it's definitely a tough one to display. Either way, in terms of sheer size, this is hands-down the most impressive Mega Size kit to date.
Anyway, if you're someone who loves big-scale kits and simple, easy builds — even if the bulk is a bit over the top — this one's worth recommending. Bandai must have been a little worried that the sheer size might actually put people off, because despite the much larger box and increased parts count, they only bumped the price up ¥300 over the Mega Size AGE-1 — which is honestly pretty reasonable. :-)
