Galaxy Booster

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

The 33rd Build Custom kit is the Galaxy Booster. The HG Build Strike Galaxy Cosmos includes the exact same runner, so this kit is essentially just the Galaxy Booster split off as a separate release.

The molded color is a plain white with no variation, so it looks pretty bland, but the functionality itself is quite solid. When attached to an MS as a backpack, it defaults to a star shape, but you can also spread it out into a fully expanded form, or use it like a booster with the wings spread open.

It also includes separate joint parts, making it compatible with 1/144 kits that have either one or two backpack ports, so it should work with pretty much any HG kit that has a backpack. The included stand is recycled straight from the Build Custom Universe Booster, and that runner does leave behind quite a few leftover parts.

So even though the visuals are a bit plain, it's still a solid option parts set in terms of functionality — though at ¥800, the value for money feels relatively low. On top of that, since it's already included with the HG Build Strike Galaxy Cosmos, buying this kit separately feels a bit redundant. That said, it does give you a bit more flexibility in your options, and I think that's where its value lies. :-)
