Geara Ghirarga

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

The seventh Build Divers kit has arrived — it's the HGBD Geara Ghirarga, based on the HG Ghirarga from Gundam AGE. The HG Ghirarga was already a pretty solid kit, and this one takes it further with enhanced weaponry and more beam parts added into the mix. On top of that, the color scheme has completely shifted from red to blue, which makes it feel like a whole different machine.

At its core, this is a well-rounded HG kit with excellent articulation and solid joint strength. Despite being a tricky shape to pose, it holds its positions really well, which makes it a lot of fun to work with. The long Ghirarga Ghira Tail — which hangs off the back like a tail — is assembled by threading a bunch of segments onto a wire, and since the wire is sturdy, it holds whatever angle you bend it into. The one issue is that the individual segments tend to rotate on their own and mess up the shape, so you'll need to realign them every time you set a pose.

With the large beam parts added to the backpack, the center of gravity shifts quite a bit toward the rear, but it still manages to stand upright pretty well. That said, given the design, it really looks its best when displayed on an action stand rather than just standing on the ground. As for weapons, only one Ghirarga Ghira Sphere is included, but a dedicated hand part comes with it, so the weapon stays in place nicely.

Overall, this is a great HG kit with consistently solid quality. If you're enjoying Build Divers, this one's an easy recommendation — no hesitation needed. :-)
