The Leo NPD has been released as the 8th Build Divers HG kit. The HGAC Leo came out unexpectedly just a month before, and it kind of feels like it was thrown in as a bonus while they were already preparing the Leo NPD for Build Divers.
Over 70% of the parts are shared with the existing HGAC Leo, so the basic characteristics are pretty much the same — excellent limb articulation and solid joint strength. Only the upper body, head, and shoulder armor have been changed, and with 4 different heads and 3 shoulder armor variants included, there are plenty of combinations to play with. (Though it almost feels like they want you to buy four of them...)
The weapon loadout is identical to the original Leo — shield, rifle, and beam saber are all included, and thanks to the great articulation, posing is a lot of fun. That said, the shoulder joints use plastic instead of polycaps for added durability, but they can be a bit stiff, so there's a risk of breakage during posing — definitely handle with care.
Anyway, it seems like this kit was designed with the HGAC lineup in mind, because it feels a notch more refined than other Build Divers HG kits. It's a satisfying build with great quality, so picking up multiple copies and mixing different heads to build out a squad sounds like a really fun idea. :-)
