Figurerise Standard

Diver Nami

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is Diver Nami, released under the Figurerise Standard Build Divers lineup. The build style looks like a standard Figurerise Standard, but it carries the Build Divers No. 16 numbering.
Since it's included under the official lineup number, I've placed it in the Build series menu rather than the Figurerise Standard category, just so you know.

Anyway, because of that, this came out as a more compact girlpla compared to its predecessors. Honestly, the previous Build Fighters pretty-girl kits had weird face sculpts and terrible joint strength — the quality was so poor they could barely even stand up straight. But this Diver Nami is a whole different story: the body articulation and joints are (finally!!) solid and smooth, just like you'd expect from Bandai. It's almost infuriating to think they could've done this all along but didn't. -_-

You can swap between 3 facial expressions, and the eye seals let you change the direction of the pupils. Unlike before, there's no clear part layered over the eyes — you just apply the seal directly. On top of that, two hair colors are included, and the whole thing has a feel of borrowing the Frame Arms Girl format in various ways.

As mentioned above, this Diver Nami stands apart from similar previous kits with its excellent articulation and solid joint strength, making posing so much easier. That said, the face sculpt and proportions still feel like they're going in a different direction from the cute Frame Arms Girl aesthetic, so it'll probably be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of thing..

All the weapons are based on modeling tools, so they take on fun shapes modeled after nippers, a Gundam Marker, and an airbrush. There's also a simple stand included so you can do aerial poses without a separate stand, and the P Spray Gun even has a cord part that can connect to the backpack.

Personally, maybe because the previous kits were such a letdown, I find this one to be a pretty likable Bandai-style girlpla — it's a big step up in quality compared to the Build Fighters pretty-girl kits, which always felt like they were going out of their way not to step on Kotobukiya's turf (?). Whether you like the look is down to personal taste, but if the visuals appeal to you, I'd say go ahead and grab it without hesitation :-)
