Gundam AGE-II Magnum SV Ver.

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

The Gundam AGE-II Magnum SV Ver. has been released as a variation of the HG Gundam AGE-II Magnum. The original molded colors have been brightened up and a few new structural additions have been made. For starters, the feet are now longer, so the kit is displayed on a taller stand, and a large panel called the Sigmasis panel has been added to the backpack.

Aside from those changes, the base body is identical to the original Gundam AGE-II Magnum, making this a solid kit with excellent articulation and joint strength. The transformation gimmick carries over as well. Since all the characteristics of the base body are the same as before, for a detailed look at things like the transformation process, check out the HG Gundam AGE-II Magnum reviewplease refer to that.

With the SV Ver., the large panels and elongated feet give even similar poses a much greater sense of volume compared to the standard version. You can even pull off flashy poses with both the F panels on the shoulders and the Sigmasis panels all launched at once. Sure, you'll need to track down and combine several separate stands to pull that off, but it definitely gives the whole thing a more spectacular feel.

So while this is a relatively straightforward variation with just a bit of extra armament added, it's still a solid HG kit with its own personality. Considering how much stuff is hanging off it, the parts hold together surprisingly well — so if you like the look, don't worry about the quality and just go for it :-)
