Jupitive Gundam

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This is the HG Jupitive Gundam released as part of the Build Divers Re:Rise series. It shares the same format as the previously released Earthree Gundam, Core Gundam G-3 Color & Veetwo Unit, and Core Gundam Real Type Color & Marsfour Unit — the concept being the Core Gundam dressed up in Jupiter armor. Following the series' unique naming convention of combining a planet's order number and name in English, this time the fifth (Five) planet of the solar system, Jupiter, is combined to give us the name "Jupitive."

The overall format is the same, with only the molded colors and additional equipment designs changed. It still delivers excellent articulation, solid joint strength, and the same combine/separate gimmick with the Core Gundam and Jupiter Armor flight configuration as the previous kits. One new addition is the variety of beam parts and a clear stand included in the box — which is probably why the price went up to ¥2,000. The weapons also have a bit more volume than the previous kits, which likely accounts for that ¥600 price increase.

The biggest highlight of this kit is the two multi-container bits on the backpack, which can be detached and mounted on the forearms. You can also attach beam saber and beam shield-type beam parts to them, and even use the included stand to recreate a scene where the bits are launched as bit weapons.

Anyway, the format itself is getting a bit familiar at this point, but it's still a quality kit — and like the previous releases, it's got enough going for it on its own without needing to buy a separately sold weapon kit. If you like the look, it's definitely worth recommending. :-)
