Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers
This kit is the HG Mobile Doll May released as part of the Build Divers Re:Rise series. Like the Mobile Doll Sarah from the original Build Divers, it's a human-form plastic model that comes with two separate heads — one in MS form and one in human form — which you can swap out as you like.
The human-form head lets you swap between 3 different face expressions, just like other pretty-girl kits. The eye stickers cover a wide area from the eyebrows all the way down to the eyes, and it does look a bit off. You'd think they could've done it in a less noticeable way... The sticker approach itself is the same as Mobile Doll Sarah, but with Sarah the gap between the eyebrows and eyes was narrower, and crucially, her hair covered the eyebrows so it wasn't very obvious. On this kit, the eyebrows and eyes are farther apart and that area is less covered by the hair, so while it's less noticeable in photos, quite a few people will probably find it a bit jarring in person. On the plus side, the teal stripe sections on the body are done with a mix of color separation and stickers, and they blend together quite cleanly.
Articulation is also a bit of a letdown — the waist and hip joints aren't as flexible as you'd hope. Even though the skirt doesn't really get in the way, a natural kneeling pose is still a struggle, and the limited range of motion makes it hard to pull off a wide variety of poses. That said, the joint strength is solid, so at least whatever pose you do put it in holds well — which is a relief.
As for weapons, you get a beam saber, a beam shield, and a beam handgun. The beam saber attaches to the forearm and the beam shield to the shoulder, both via parts-swapping. Only two hand options are included — an open hand and a weapon-holding hand. A simple clear stand with an extension piece is also included for mounting to the backpack.
Anyway, the somewhat limited leg articulation and the noticeable eye stickers are a bit of a shame, but the solid joints and clean proportions are definite plusses. This one's probably going to be a love-it-or-leave-it kit depending on your taste. :-)
