Gundam G-Else

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This is the HG Gundam G-Else released as part of the Build Divers Re:Rise series. It's a variation kit based on the HG Gundam G-Self from Gundam Reconguista in G, with only some parts added or swapped out — yet the overall look feels dramatically different. The change in molded colors probably has the most to do with that.

The articulation is nothing special, but the joint strength is solid and the proportions are great, so it's a really satisfying kit to pose and play around with. For special gimmicks, you get the Grow-up Arms and Grow-up Legs that attach to the arms and legs respectively, with the claw sections on each being poseable. You can also detach them and display them separately as remote-controlled weapons — though that does mean you'll need to borrow up to five stands to make it work. Beyond that, the basic weapons include a beam rifle and beam parts, and the beam parts can be mounted on the Grow-up Arms to use as beam sabers.

All in all, for a reuse kit this one does a great job of looking distinctly different from the original, and the joint and articulation quality in particular is really impressive. If the style appeals to you, this kit should give you plenty of satisfying build and posing fun. :-)
