The second kit in the Build Fighters HG series is the Zaku Amazing — unlike the Build Strike Gundam released alongside it, it's not an all-new mold, but rather released in the format of adding new weapons to an existing HGUC kit.
For starters, the base body isn't based on the old HGUC Zaku II, but on the completely newly released HGUC Zaku High Mobility Type kit, so the base quality is really clean.^^ Essentially, it looks like the new-mold Zaku that came out in Char's sausage colors, with the leg armor changed and new weapon structures added to the shoulders and backpack.
The rocket launcher added to the backpack can be detached and mounted on the side of the leg, and the heat nata stored under the backpack can be detached and placed in the hand. The newly added long rifle has a well-placed grip layout that makes it easy to hold with both hands, and dual-wielding action using the handgun added to the side skirt is also possible.
Overall, it doesn't feel all that different from the weapon-added Gunpla that used to come out in the old Gunpla Builders series, but since the base body quality is so good, the kit itself feels like a significant step up in quality. The one disappointing point is that the handgun holster on the side of the waist doesn't hold well and tends to fall off, but aside from that, there's really nothing to complain about quality-wise.
As you'd expect from a 2013-era HG Gunpla, the quality is clean and on par with HGUC standards.. but in the end, the somewhat rough-looking aesthetic and thin backstory are really what will make or break its sales. That said, the quality gap over Gunpla Builders is significant enough that this is definitely a new release worth keeping an eye on for future lineup additions :-)
