Kit Review

The Hi-Mock, the unmanned drone unit used for the battle system in Build Fighters Try, has been released as an HG kit. Design-wise it has a similar feel to the recently released G-Reco HG Grimoire and Turn A's Mobile Sumo, though it's a somewhat simpler-looking design.
As you can see, it's a simple green mass-production style unit, and thanks to its round head, shoulders, and overall rounded styling, it has a distinctly different feel from your typical Gunpla. True to the mobile suit's design, articulation is pretty flexible and it's easy to get into poses — though unfortunately only one beam rifle is included as armament, so there aren't all that many poses you can pull off. (A Mock Army Set has been released separately as a Build Customs set to make up for that.)
That said, the detail is so sparse that the kit's overall appearance doesn't look all that impressive. It's partly down to the mobile suit's design concept to begin with, but the somewhat dull molded colors make it hard to feel like a brand-new 2015 kit. ^^; Still, once you actually build it and handle it in person, you can feel that clean, modern joint movement you'd expect from a current release.
Either way, this is a meaningful kit as one of the relatively few original mobile suits released from Build Fighters, and if you enjoyed the source material it's a fun, light HG kit well worth picking up. :-)
