Kit Review

A kit with the unusual name SxDxG Gundam has been released in the SDBF lineup — the SD Build Fighters series. The name SxDxG comes from the fact that it can be swapped between three different Gundams: Snibal, Dragonagel, and Gira Cannon Gundam.
It's said to be convertible into 3 different Gundams, but since all you're really doing is swapping out the chest armor and weapons, each form doesn't feel all that distinct from the others. It's more like the chest emblem changes slightly when you switch up the loadout. One interesting design choice: at first glance it looks like the Gundam has no hands, but look closer and you'll find they're actually molded into the inside of the forearms.
Overall quality-wise, it feels a bit larger and more substantial compared to traditional BB Senshi SD kits, and one notable feature is the lack of hollow areas. In terms of build quality, it's pretty much on par with its predecessor, the Winning Gundam series — clean and tidy, but also a touch on the simple side, in that Musha Gundam kind of style. It uses the same polycaps as existing SD kits, but thankfully none of the joints feel particularly loose, which is a nice plus.
The real highlight of the SxDxG Gundam is actually buying three of them and building the Snibal-Drago-Gira mode. Assembling it into a three-headed Cerberus-style beast would look pretty awesome, but it's not quite tempting enough of a kit to justify buying three copies — so I'll just leave that part to the manual photos. ^^;
All in all, it's a solid, no-frills SDBF kit — nothing spectacular, but nothing wrong with it either. It's worth recommending to anyone who wants to enjoy a bit of variety by doing some quick weapon swaps, or to those bold enough to buy three and build that unique Cerberus configuration. :-)
