Alongside the Petit'gguy line, the Beargguy variations have been continuing as well — and this time we've got the Papagguy released in HG. True to its name, it's a "dad" concept character, with the body color changed to gray and a mustache, hat, and cane added to the mix.
Compared to previous Beargguy variations, this one has a more distinct personality. The extra parts aren't many, but they definitely give it a unique feel. Just like its predecessors, it comes with various eye seals and additional face parts, letting you recreate a total of 6 different expressions.
The base kit quality is still solid, with a smooth build feel and a nice sense of volume. That said, the joint strength is a little iffy in places — the extension joints added to the arms in particular leave something to be desired in terms of holding power.
Sure, it's a bit less cute in concept compared to its predecessors, but it's still a fun kit with its own personality — the kind of thing any Gunpla fan can pick up and enjoy without any fuss. :-)
