Super Fumina Axis Angel Ver.

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is the HG Super Fumina Axis Angel Ver., released as a variation of the Build Fighters Super Fumina. True to its name, it sports angel wings, and the whole thing is covered in a marbled molded color reminiscent of the Qubeley, giving it a surprisingly lustrous look. That said, the overall color scheme is so light that the silhouette can end up looking a bit washed-out.

The base body is identical to the original Super Fumina, offering decent articulation and solid joint strength as you'd expect from a Bandai-style figure model kit. That said, the face still feels somehow less pretty compared to Kotobukiya's girlplas (...), though I suppose that's just the character's design. The eyebrow stickers in particular feel noticeably out of place.

For weapons, you get two funnel/sticks — basically Qubeley funnels with a rod stuck on — which can be used individually or combined into one. They can also be stored inside the wings or the rear skirt. The Conscience Wings added to the back have multiple joints built in, allowing them to be deployed in a variety of configurations.

The eye expression follows the same approach as the original Super Fumina, with a clear part placed over the eye seals to give them that luminous depth. In the Axis Angel Ver., this has been upgraded Kotobukiya-style with three sets of eye parts, letting you swap between three different gaze directions. The foot contact area is still pretty terrible, making it nearly impossible to stand on its own, but a simple clear stand is included just like before.

Personally, I find the color scheme a bit too washed-out and lacking in presence, but it's still a rare Bandai-style girlpla, so for anyone interested it's a solid enough kit worth recommending. :-)
