Reversible Gundam

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

The Reversible Gundam has been released as the 63rd kit in the Build Fighters HG lineup. It's essentially based on the HG Reborns Gundam from the 00 series, with the molded colors changed and a backpack plus some additional weapons added. Most of the core structure is carried over as-is with only the molded colors swapped out, so the structural characteristics are the same.

As the name "Reversible" (able to be flipped) suggests, it transforms into a different form front-to-back, just like the HG Reborns Gundam. Calling it a "transformation" might be a bit generous though — it's basically just the rear view with the forearm weapons deployed and the legs bent slightly, and that becomes Cannon Mode. On top of that, if you extend the legs straight out, pull out the caterpillar tracks from the rear skirt, and have it crouch down, you can also pull off a Tank Mode.

As for the basic characteristics, like the HG Reborns Gundam, it has solid articulation and great joint strength, making transformations and posing easy with good stability. Ultimately the main selling point of this kit is that it's a unique transforming kit — Tank Mode feels a little forced, but Cannon Mode does show off a pretty unique look. That said, whether you like the overall style will probably come down to personal taste.

The base quality is solid with no major issues, so if the style appeals to you, it's definitely a fun and unique kit worth picking up. :-)
