The third Gunpla Builders kit is the Super Custom Zaku F2000, derived from the Zaku F2. As you can see, the design slaps extra armor and weapons all over the Zaku F2, and it ends up feeling like a completely different suit altogether.
First off, if you're into heavy, bulky-looking kits, this design is going to be right up your alley. Three runners' worth of extra armor and weapons give it a really flashy look. The color scheme might come across as a little toy-ish to some, but it has a nice, compact feel to it. And since it's based on the latest HGUC Zaku F2, the build experience is satisfying enough.
On top of all the standard Zaku F2 weapons, the Super Custom Zaku F2000 adds the Vortex Machine Gun Z on the forearm and the Dead End G Heat Hawk — a massive spear-like weapon. The Dead End G Heat Hawk has a really cool look to it, and it makes for some seriously impressive action poses. On top of that, the Zaku F2's machine gun and beam rifle are mounted on the back and can be swung around at all sorts of angles, which adds another fun layer to the kit.
When a kit gets this bulky, joint strength is naturally a concern, but the polycaps on recent HGUC kits are solid enough that it's not really an issue. The articulation is also pretty decent for its size, making it fairly easy to pull off poses on a stand. The one downside is that the armor structure makes it hard to fully straighten the knees, so when standing, it tends to lean back slightly.
It's got a vibe that somehow reminds you of MSV, but unlike the combat-focused MSV concept, there's also something a little toy-like about it. Regardless of its origins, if you're into fully-armed, weapon-laden kits, this is definitely going to catch your eye. The base quality is solid too, so I think it's a great kit you can just sit back and "enjoy" without any stress. :-)
