Petit'gguy Red / Blue / Yellow / Pink

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

The Petit'gguy — that cute and adorable little bear cub that came with Beargguy F — has now been released as a standalone kit. The original Japanese pronunciation would technically be "Puchit'gguy," but that doesn't really roll off the tongue, so calling it Petit'gguy with the original French-style pronunciation just feels more charming. ^^

Since the Petit'gguy runner was already completely separate in the Beargguy F kit, it was pretty natural to expect a standalone release at some point. What I didn't expect, though, was for them to drop multiple color variations all at once like this. On top of that, at ¥500 per unit, it feels a bit pricey given the amount of parts you're getting — personally, somewhere around ¥300–400 would've felt more appropriate.

And with four colors dropping at once — Burning Red, Lightning Blue, Winning Yellow, and Future Pink — you're looking at ¥2,000 if you want the full set. They're released as four separate kits, but since the only difference is the molded color and the composition is 100% identical, I decided to review them all together rather than doing individual reviews.

One thing worth noting is that a jigsaw puzzle-shaped stand is included, which wasn't in the original Beargguy F — so you can display it nicely on its own, and if you collect multiple ones, you can connect the stands together like puzzle pieces for a fun arrangement. There's also a chair backpack and connecting hands for Beargguy-type kits included, so you can pose them together with other kits too.

Anyway, functionality is pretty much beside the point here — the appeal of this kit is simply that it's cute and adorable. It honestly gives off strong vibes of being a gateway Gunpla kit aimed at women. Not that guys can't enjoy building it too, but this is definitely a kit I'd especially recommend to anyone looking for a little something to work on together with someone special :-) It's just that level of cute.
