Club G HGUC

Zeta Gundam (Wave Shooter)

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is the HGUC Zeta Gundam (Wave Shooter), released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. The Wave Shooter is a configuration that was featured on the HG Zeta Gundamreleased back in 1990 — only the wings and shield were changed. This kit pays homage to that, taking the standard-release HGUC Zeta Gundam [G.E.P] and adding newly sculpted Wave Shooter parts.

The body itself is completely identical to the HGUC Zeta Gundam [G.E.P], with exactly the shield and wings swapped out. The wings are noticeably larger compared to the original Waverider wings. The transformation process is mostly the same, though the Wave Shooter wings only need to fold 90 degrees, which does make transforming it a bit easier.

Since the main body is the same, for this review you really just need to take a close look at the updated shield and wings — and they still show off that clean detailing and quality feel. The one thing that bugs me is how out-of-place the red stickers on the wings look; they're a bit of an eyesore. That said, as a variation kit paying homage to the very first HG kit, this is definitely something any Zeta Gundam fan will have a good time with. :-)
