Club G HGAC

Maganac (Auda Custom/Ahmad Custom)

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This is the HGAC Maganac (Auda Custom/Ahmad Custom), released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. Just like the simultaneously released HGAC Maganac (Rashid Custom/Abdul Custom), you can build either of the 2 Maganac variants by swapping parts. That said, this kit isn't a combined set of both units — you can only build one at a time.

First off, like the Rashid/Abdul customs, a large number of new parts have been included. You can swap the head, shoulders, chest, side/rear skirts, left arm, and backpack to build either the Auda or Ahmad custom. The head swap is still a bit of a hassle though — and it's actually even more inconvenient than the Rashid/Abdul customs, which only shared the forehead and eye seals. Here you also have to move the side and rear head parts over. On top of that, this time around you have to fully disassemble and reassemble the entire head to switch between the two, which makes it even more of a pain. It would've been nice if Bandai had just included duplicate copies of those shared parts as a courtesy. (Or maybe they just expect you to buy two kits and build them separately... ^^;)

Anyway, it's still a solid HGAC kit with the same reliable articulation and joint strength we've come to expect. For this review, the main thing to pay attention to is the changed exterior parts, and if you're a Wing Gundam fan, grabbing this alongside the Rashid/Abdul customs would make for an even better combo.
Of course, if you go all-in and pick up the 36-unit Maganac set to recreate the full Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves concept, that'd be even better... :-)
