Club G HGUC

Gelgoog Vertex

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is the HGUC Gelgoog Vertex, released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. Just looking at the appearance, it looks more like a variation of the Regelgu than the Gelgoog — basically the Regelgu's large shoulder armor has been moved to the backpack. There are also some minor structural changes here and there, but the body's color scheme and color combination are almost identical to Johnny Ridden's unit.

First off, the active binders — which relocate the Regelgu's shoulder armor to the backpack — have had their internal vernier design changed from 3 nozzles to 2, though you can still optionally use the original 3-nozzle parts. They're connected via a movable joint, allowing rotation at various angles. On top of that, the rear skirt verniers have been upgraded from 3 nozzles to 5, and new mold details have been added to both sides of the head antenna. As for accessories, the HGUC Jagd Doga's Mega Beam Gatling and two weapon-holding hands are included — though you're one hand back part short, so you'll need to borrow it from another hand.

Aside from these additions and changes, the structural characteristics are the same as the existing HGUC Gelgoog/Regelgu. It's carrying a big load on its back, but the body's solid joint strength means it's not really a problem. The overall volume is pretty much on par with the HGUC Regelgu, but it gives off the feeling of being the final evolved form of the Gelgoog/Regelgu line. Either way, if you're a Gelgoog fan who loves a chunky, loaded kit, this one should satisfy you. :-)
