Gundam TR-6 [Woundwort] Psycho Blade Custom [A.O.Z Re-boot Ver.]

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is the HGUC Gundam TR-6 [Woundwort] Psycho Blade Custom, released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. It's based on the previously released HGUC Gundam TR-6 [Woundwort]with changed molded colors and some newly sculpted parts added. The Psycho Blade head antenna, thigh parts, and the transformation block have all been swapped out.

So the basic features and transformation process are pretty much the same as before. The original Woundwort parts are also included so you can configure it as the TR-6 [Woundwort] Black Haze Legion spec — though swapping the head and thighs for that requires basically disassembling almost everything, which is a bit of a hassle. Since the Black Haze Legion spec is 100% identical in sculpt to the original Woundwort anyway, most people will probably just build it in the Psycho Blade configuration.

The signature Psycho Blade is nicely sculpted with good depth, and the updated thigh parts have been completely reworked from the internal joints to the rear armor. Honestly, you won't notice the difference unless you look closely — the changed molded colors and head antenna are what really stand out. On top of that, the dedicated core block parts for mobile armor mode have also been swapped out, with the head and neck sculpt being slightly narrower than before (you really have to look hard to spot it). Thanks to this, while the original Woundwort required you to remove the two vertical wings at the bottom of the rear skirt when transforming into mobile armor mode, the Psycho Blade version lets you keep them on.

Shoulder joint parts for combining with other kits are also included, letting you team it up with the HGUC Barzam Legion Capture Spec (A.O.Z Re-boot Ver.). The overall look is a bit awkward though, and the main body's durability is still not great — the whole thing wobbles around quite a bit. Articulation, joint strength, and the claw mode implementation are all the same as before, and the joints hold up well enough to support the main body on its own — but it's still a bit nerve-wracking when it's holding that big composite shield.

So it is a fairly minor variation kit with only a handful of changed parts, but it's still meaningful that the Titans-colored Woundwort with the Psycho Blade has finally been released. Either way, if you like the look or you're into AOZ kit-bashing, this should be a fun one to pick up :-)
