Kit Review
Straight build + Stickers
Due to the shoulder joint structure, forward/backward movement is quite limited, but it can raise up a fair bit.

This kit is the HGAC Leo-R, released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. It was released through Club G alongside the HGAC Leo-S, and both are mobile suits that appear in New Mobile Report Gundam Wing Dual Story: G-Unit. It reuses some of the inner frame and armor parts from the HGAC Leo,but most of the exterior, much like the Leo-S, is provided as newly tooled parts.
Being based on the HGAC Leo, it delivers a clean build experience and excellent overall quality. The waist and shoulder articulation are a bit lacking, but the joint strength and feel are great, making it a fun kit to handle. In terms of weapons and accessories, you only get the Beam Duel Lancer and four hands, so the included extras feel a little sparse — but the dedicated hand for holding the Beam Duel Lancer provides a solid grip, so posing is pretty much stress-free.
Compared to the HGAC Leo-S released in the same format, not having a cape makes it noticeably easier to handle. The wing stabilizers on the back do pop off occasionally during posing, but it's relatively compact and that actually makes the overall quality feel even better.
All in all, it's come out as an exemplary HG kit with clean quality and a large amount of new tooling. With Leo-S and Leo-R now released from the trio of Leo-series units in Gundam Wing Dual Story: G-Unit, Leo-N is eagerly anticipated as well. Either way, if you're a big fan of the Leo or just love the look of this one, it's definitely a kit worth highly recommending. :-)
