This kit is the HGUC Messer Type-F02 Minelayer, released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. It's based on the HGUC Messer Type-F02with new parts added to the mix. The molded colors and included parts are all the same as the original — only the rear skirt and Minelayer parts are newly added.

So for this review, you really only need to check out the newly added Minelayer and rear skirt gimmick. With 2 extra joints added to the rear skirt's articulation, the range of motion has improved quite a bit. That said, the number of added parts is smaller than you'd expect, and it does leave you wondering why this variant even exists. If at least the molded colors were different it'd at least look distinct, but from the front it's completely identical to the original Messer Type-F02.

It's a variation with pretty minor changes, no doubt about it. Still, this was already a solid kit from the start — great build feel, a nice big frame, decent articulation, and good joint strength. Either way, if you've already built the original HGUC Messer Type-F02, this one feels a bit redundant. But if you haven't built it yet, this is essentially the superior version and well worth recommending. :-)
