Since the handle rotates to the side, you can grip the long-range rifle without any interference — thankfully.

This kit is the HGUC Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Custom] with Flying Unit "ICARUS", released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. The majority of the main body's configuration is the same as the Titans Color version of the HGUC Hazel Custom, with only the chest armor replaced to accommodate the equipment attachment. The large Icarus Unit equipment has been cleanly reproduced with all-new tooling.
The main body is the same as the HGUC Hazel series released back in 2005, but even in 2026 — 21 years later — it still holds up with solid quality. The articulation is nothing special, but it has decent joint strength and a sharp, edgy look. That said, once the bulky Icarus Unit equipment is attached, the hip joint range of motion drops significantly, making it hard to raise the thighs very high. Even so, the sheer volume of the silhouette does help carry the poses to some extent.
The Icarus Unit equipment consists of large armor that wraps around the torso and big thermonuclear jet engines added to both shoulders. The chest beam reflector can be deployed 180 degrees, and the thermonuclear jet engines can be pulled outward and swiveled forward or backward. You can also add parts on top of the existing beam rifle to configure it as a long-range rifle, which can then be broken down into 3 blocks and reassembled in a folded form. On top of that, new joint parts are included, making it possible to mount the shield on the shoulder as well.
Overall, the chunky, voluminous Icarus Unit equipment has been reproduced really cleanly. I was a bit worried about the durability of the main body given the added size and weight, but thankfully it holds together fine both standing upright and in posed positions. Either way, if you're an AOZ fan, this is definitely a kit worth picking up. :-)
