Club G MG

Jesta Cannon

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This is the MG Jesta Cannon, released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. It's based on the MG Jesta with cannon parts added to the mix. Only 2 new runners were added, but visually it looks like roughly 50% of the exterior has been changed.

The Jesta Cannon body gets extra armor on the chest, shoulders, left forearm, front skirt, and legs, while the beam rifle gets additional weaponry bolted on top and bottom, making it a much beefier piece. On top of that, a cannon unit is added to the top of the backpack, giving the overall look and silhouette quite a different feel compared to the standard Jesta.

Since the frame and joint structure are identical to the MG Jesta, the overall build quality is solid and reliable. That said, the lower body joints still aren't the sturdiest, so getting the center of gravity right when standing it upright is important. Also, with the extra armor added above the front skirt, there's some interference when you try to raise the front skirt. This does cut the thigh raise angle down a little, but overall it doesn't feel like it hurts the articulation enough to be a real problem.

Anyway, the big appeal of this kit is how much of a style change it pulls off with relatively few added parts — and the design itself just looks great. The original Jesta beam rifle parts and shield are included too, so you can swap out the cannon pack and extra weapons as you like. In terms of sheer style, this is easily one of the top-tier variation kits among Club G exclusives, and if the look appeals to you, it's definitely worth picking up without hesitation. :-)
