This kit is the MG GM II, released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. It's based on the MG GM 2.0, with a good number of newly sculpted parts applied to the exterior — which gives us an MG GM II with great quality and a solid sense of originality.
First off, following the design specs, the head, chest, front/side skirts, backpack, shoulders, forearms, knees, and calves have all been changed from the MG GM 2.0. On top of that, the original beam spray gun and bazooka have been dropped, and a new beam rifle has been added. With so many areas getting new sculpts, it has a genuinely fresh feel to it — honestly, it seems like it would've been popular enough to warrant a general retail release.
And since the MG GM 2.0 it's based on is such a top-tier kit, this one comes out as an S-class kit as well, with a precise frame, excellent articulation, and solid joint strength. The body frame is shared with the GM 2.0, but since the backpack was redesigned, the backpack frame at least gets a newly sculpted piece.
With new sculpts that stay faithful to the design specs and a base body of the highest quality, this is a very satisfying kit overall — and for anyone collecting GM-line kits, it's pretty much a must-have. :-)
