Club G RE/100

Quess Air's Jagd Doga

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is the RE/100 Quess Air's Jagd Doga, released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. Starting from the standard retail RE/100 Jagd Doga Gyunei unit, the molded color has been changed to Quess's red color scheme, with newly sculpted parts added for the head, weapons, and accessories.

At its core this is essentially a color variant kit, so the basic configuration and features are the same as the Gyunei unit. It still uses RE/100 polycaps that feel undersized for the kit's scale, giving the joints an overall somewhat shaky feel. That said, it's nowhere near as bad as the worst joint strength we saw from early RE/100 kits, so while action poses can feel a bit precarious, standing it upright for display isn't really a problem.

The newly sculpted head and Mega Gatling Cannon come out nicely as solid 1/100-scale pieces, and as a bonus, supplementary parts are included to recreate the Sleeves-spec Jagd Doga from Mobile Suit Gundam UC. Those supplementary parts consist of the Sleeves-markings sleeve for the left arm and the internal joint part for the right shoulder — though to pull it off, you'll need to borrow parts from the MG Geara Doga (Unicorn Ver.)released through Club G — specifically the right arm, rifle, and backpack. Thanks to that you can recreate the Sleeves-spec Jagd Doga, but the colors don't match up, so it's really a build that assumes you'll be doing a full repaint.

Either way, it's significant just to have Quess's Jagd Doga released in 1/100 scale, and the kit's big selling point is that massive, Sazabi-class bulk that puts most MGs to shame in terms of sheer size. It may not be the sturdiest kit for its size, but if you've been waiting for Quess's unit, you'll probably just be glad it came out at all. :-)
