The Dodai was a craft that saw a lot of action in the First Gundam anime, and the Dodai 2 that appears in the 08th MS Team is an upgraded version of it.
Compared to the boxy, flat-board look of the original Dodai, this one is relatively more streamlined and has a bit more going on all around.

If the first EX release, the Gundam Trailer, stood out with its neatly packed detail, this Dodai 2 is, well... the molds are shallow and the detail isn't all that refined, making it honestly one of the least impressive entries in the EX series. The whole point of EX models is to recreate minor vehicles at a level of precision beyond MG or HGUC MS-scale kits, but with this Dodai, the detail honestly feels pretty old-school. Sure, it's cleaner than the vintage kit with no seam line issues, but just looking at the external detail alone, it's a bit lacking. ^^;

And it's not like the color separation saves it either, so you'll definitely need to paint it if you want it to look right. Those cheap-looking light blue stickers are also pretty un-EX-like. In short, it's a kit that kind of muddies what the EX model line is supposed to be about.

So basically, this isn't an EX model you should pick up expecting great detail — it's more of a "hey, the Dodai 2 got a kit" kind of thing. ^^; It's probably best suited for folks looking to build an 08th MS Team diorama.
