The 5th EX model release is a bit of an odd choice — it's the S-Gundam Attacker, the upper-body transformation form of the S-Gundam. Of course it's a fixed flight-form kit with no transformation, and every single part is molded in a blatantly plain white. That's basically screaming "paint me!" — and since color separation would've been a nightmare anyway, it seems like they just molded it in a paint-friendly color to match the EX concept... It's definitely a color that works in your favor when painting ^^
On the flip side, the overall detail is finer and bolder than HGUC level — it gives off an almost resin-like feel. Things that should stick out do, and things that should be recessed are. It's not the type of kit that goes crazy with panel lines; instead it relies on the three-dimensionality of the molding itself. And if this had been a transforming kit, the transformation gimmick would've made it wobbly and hard to keep in place — but since they gave up on transformation entirely and locked it in flight form, the proportions stay rock solid without a hint of wobble, which is actually a selling point in its own right.
Between the molded color and the detail, this kit definitely stirs up the urge to paint it — but the problem is that the Attacker itself feels like a pretty niche item.
For those who enjoy painting, think of it as a quirky little item that's somewhat interesting in its own way — pricier than usual since it's an Ex-model, but still cheaper than resin. ^^
