Jet Core-Booster

Kit Review

Straight build

Following the S Gundam Attacker, the Core Booster for the First Gundam has been released as an EX kit aimed at painters. Like the Attacker, it's molded in white (actually a light gray), which is definitely a great base color for painting. Flip that around, and it's basically saying don't buy this if you're not planning to paint it.. ;

The detail and molds are a bit shallower compared to the previous Attacker, making the overall look feel a little plain. It's fairly faithful to the source material, but... that's about as far as it goes. Other than the smart warhead on the bottom being removable, there's not much else going on. On the plus side, the clear display stand has a somewhat unique style that does stand out a bit.

Personally, even for an EX-model dealing in rare subjects, I can't help but feel that at ¥3000, it should've been a bit more refined than this... ^^; That said, the biggest significance of this kit is probably just the fact that the Core Booster has been kitted at all — with modern proportions and decent enough detail.
