Following the 1/100 Yukikaze series set of 6, this time around we get an unexpected EX kit of an aircraft from a video game. This kit is the Falken from the famous game "Ace Combat" — a long, sharp, and sleek aircraft with a very futuristic design.

First off, the EX Falken is a bit different from other EX series kits in that the upper/lower surfaces and key areas already have pretty decent color separation right out of the box. In other words, even a straight build looks quite respectable, and throwing on the included wet decals makes it look even sharper. Whether it's thanks to the excellent original design or not, the kit's proportions are refined, and the clean color separation between the upper and lower sections is definitely a highlight.

On top of that, it also features a complex yet precise laser cannon open function, along with swap-out landing gear and missiles.

Kitting up aircraft from video games might seem a bit over the top... or maybe not — either way, the quality and feel of the kit itself is very good~. It's a big plus that it looks really nice even for those who don't want to paint it. If you're an Ace Combat fan, this is obviously a kit you'll be drooling over, and even if you don't know Ace Combat, it's still a fun kit with great quality and plenty of interesting features on its own. :-)
