FFMH-Y101 Eternal ~ Coating Version

Kit Review

Straight build

Along with the gloss-coated Archangel, the Eternal has also gotten a plated version. Like the Archangel, this is a gloss-plated version — though there's one slight difference: while the EX Archangel coating version is a single-color chrome plate throughout, this Eternal coating version has certain parts like the wings and Meteor coated with color separation intact, just like the standard version.

Of course, it's not like they split up the runners to plate them separately — each runner basically comes in one of two coating colors: a bright pink and a bright dark gunmetal. Thanks to that, the straight build looks better than the Archangel coating version on its own... but whether it's the color difference or the thickness of the coating layer, the EX Archangel coating version somehow feels more striking and intense.

Just like the standard version, the bonus with this kit is the small and adorable 1/1700 Meteor — and despite its size, the detail is great and the coating is really evenly applied. Compared to the EX Archangel coating version which was almost blinding in its shine, this EX Eternal coating version is a bit easier on the eyes. ^^;

Anyway, the kit itself is a decent plated kit quality-wise... but one thing to watch out for — the base plastic material was changed to a harder type for the coating process, so you need to be extra careful when fitting and removing parts. The parts have lost that soft flexibility and are very rigid, so if you're not careful during assembly and disassembly, you might end up snapping something like I did. T_T
