Fumina Hoshino [The Second Scene]

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is Hoshino Fumina [The Second Scene], the second release in the Figure-rise Labo series. It's essentially a color variant of the previously released Figure-rise Labo Hoshino Fumina — the swimsuit has been changed to a deep navy blue, and the stand to a brighter sky blue. The waist and legs, which use layered injection, have also been subtly shifted to a brighter skin tone. To describe the exact feel of it, it's like the skin-colored molded surface layered over the red inner frame has gotten thinner, so the inside shows through a bit more.

On top of that, one sandy beach-shaped illustration sheet has been newly added under the stand, and all the other basic features are the same as the original yellow bikini version. That said, there were some improvements to the gate structure on certain parts — some gates have been made smaller or removed entirely to minimize visible marks on exposed surfaces. (See photos below.) This makes the overall appearance a bit cleaner, and in particular, the chunky gate marks that were visible on the legs have definitely been reduced.

So for this review, the main thing to check out is the updated color scheme and overall look. It's still a kit that lets you build a high-quality figure with a pretty straightforward assembly.

So this is more than just a simple color variant — it's an upgraded version with structural improvements as well. The original yellow bikini version has already been discontinued and is getting hard to find. Either way, it's clearly an interesting take on Bandai's figure model kit format. :-)
