Figurerise Mechanics

Frieza Hover Pod

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

The second entry in the Figurerise Mechanic series is Frieza's small pod — the Frieza Hover Pod he floated around in throughout the original series. Unlike the Saiyan Space Pod which had a hatch-open feature, this one has no action gimmicks whatsoever and is released purely as a display kit.

There are no moving parts at all, but the Frieza Hover Pod and Frieza himself both have perfect color separation applied, so even a straight build delivers a really high-quality look. The especially impressive part is how carefully they split up the parts to capture even the tiny pupils on his face. And just a heads-up — Frieza is also a completely fixed figure with no articulation joints at all, just locked in a seated pose. (His neck doesn't move either.)

As for the control panel, just like the Saiyan Space Pod, clear parts are placed on the back so the round instrument gauges come out looking really nice and shiny. The overall size is much smaller compared to the Saiyan Space Pod, yet the price difference isn't that significant, so it does feel like it falls a bit short in terms of value for money.

Anyway, it's a kit that stays true to the series concept of recreating the mechs from the original series alongside the characters. The value for money is a little lacking, but it's a cute little kit that any Dragon Ball fan should have a fun time building. :-)
