Super Saiyan 2 Son Gohan

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

Following the Figure-rise Standard Son Gokou, his son Gohan has now been released in Super Saiyan 2 form. The overall concept and contents are the same as Goku, but since Gohan is canonically much smaller, the parts count is lower and the kit comes out quite compact. That said, it's priced at ¥2200, only ¥300 less than Goku (¥2500), which feels a little hard to swallow.

The face can be swapped between 2 expressions, and the Kamehameha effect parts and clear stand are all included, just like the previous Goku kit. Overall, the articulation feels a touch more flexible than his father Goku's. I'm not sure if it's because of the smaller frame, but the forward/backward shoulder range, the leg split angle, and a whole lot more are all top-tier. On top of that, being small and light means he holds his poses rock-solid no matter what you put him in, which is another big plus.

Thanks to all that, you can freely throw him into all kinds of fun action poses, so as an action figure kit it easily earns an A++. The only gripe is that the price feels a bit steep for what you get. Still, there's something deeply satisfying about displaying him next to his father Goku, and for Dragon Ball fans, this is finally a great chance to build a Son Gohan model kit. :-)
