The Legendary Exodia Incarnate

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is The Legendary Exodia Incarnate, released as part of the Figure-rise Standard Amplified series. It's a character from "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters" with an Egyptian-inspired design, standing over 21cm tall with a bulk that rivals even the MG Sazabi in terms of volume.

First off, the parts are nice and chunky, so the part count is actually on the low side for its size — which means assembly is quick and easy, and you get that satisfying snap-fit feel that's so typical of Bandai. The color separation on the face and torso is particularly well done. Aside from the seals for the eyes and chin, the parts breakdown is really nicely divided up, making the build genuinely fun. Most of the outer parts use undergates, which does add a bit of time to the cleanup process, but the material is fairly soft so it's not hard to tidy up. Thanks to those undergates, there are almost no visible gate marks on the exterior, giving the straight build a much cleaner look overall.

There are 6 chains on the forearms and ankles, and they rattle around quite a bit whenever you move the figure — but since each link is assembled individually, the three-dimensional effect is really impressive. The overall articulation is limited by the design, but the joints are smooth and sturdy, so it feels great to pose. The one downside is that there are no accessories whatsoever, so you're limited to posing with just the body itself.

All in all, this is an A-grade figure model kit that delivers easy assembly, a clean straight-build look, impressive bulk, and solid joint strength. Yu-Gi-Oh! fans are going to absolutely love this one, and even if you don't know the character, it's the kind of kit anyone can enjoy building. :-)
