Kit Review

Krillin, one of the main characters in Dragon Ball, has been released as a Figure-rise Standard kit. Since he's a shorter character, Bandai reused the body from the previously released Super Saiyan Gohan, and as a result, he does feel a bit too small compared to how he looks in the original series.
The base frame is carried over directly from Gohan's, so the size and articulation characteristics are completely identical. Despite the small stature, the kit is still set up to pull off a decent variety of natural-looking poses.
The dots on Krillin's forehead are cleanly color-separated — very Bandai of them — and you can swap between 3 realistic facial expressions. One of them is a surprised expression, which is meant for recreating the scene where Android 18 kisses him on the cheek. That said, since Krillin came out so small, it's not exactly easy to position Android 18 bending down to actually reach his cheek. ^^;
For effect parts, you get Krillin's signature Kienzan and Consecutive Energy Discs. The Kienzan attaches to the wrist and locks on securely. The Consecutive Energy Discs are shorter than in previous kits, but they're thicker and more three-dimensional — nicely done.
Aside from the small size, this is a clean and well-made action figure kit, and if you're a fan of the original Dragon Ball, it's definitely worth picking up. :-)
