Figurerise Standard

Son Gokou

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

The original Son Gokou has finally been released as a Figure-rise Standard kit. Super Saiyan 1 and 3 came out first, and now the original version has finally arrived — it's the kit that should've come out first, but it ended up being fashionably late. As expected, it reuses the body from the existing Super Saiyan Son Gokou as-is, with only the black normal-type head and two upgraded Kamehameha effect parts runners swapped out.

As a bonus, one open right hand has been added, which comes in handy for the big smiling greeting pose. The sculpting on the 3 swappable faces is really well done and syncs up nicely with the source material. The upgraded Kamehameha effect parts also turned out great with a much more voluminous look.

The structural features are identical to the previous Super Saiyan Son Gokou, delivering excellent articulation and solid joint strength. It's still a lot of fun mixing and matching the various faces and hands to strike different poses.

Sure, the body is a recycled kit, but the real significance here is that this is the original Son Gokou — and it's a kit I'd highly recommend to any Dragon Ball fan. :-)
