Figurerise Standard

Kamen Rider Build

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

Kamen Rider Build - Rabbit Tank Form from the 2017 series Kamen Rider Build has been released as a Figure-rise Standard kit. Kamen Rider Kabuto and Faiz were previously released back in 2014 under the Figure-rise 6 lineup, and this one essentially comes out in pretty much the same format.

Since the same format and polycaps are used, the articulation and joint strength are solid and similar to the previous releases. The complex asymmetrical color scheme is pulled off pretty convincingly through color separation and stickers. Some parts use color separation while others rely on stickers, so there's a slight inconsistency, but for a straight build with stickers, the overall look is quite impressive — I'd call it a success.

For weapons, the Drill Crusher is included, which can be used in both Blade Mode and Gun Mode, and there's no real trouble recreating the various poses from the show. That said, at ¥3,000, the price feels a bit steep for what you get compared to other Figure-rise Standard kits. Maybe it's the licensing costs?

Kamen Rider actually has quite a few fans here in Korea, and I personally find myself enjoying it whenever it airs on local TV from time to time. (It's surprisingly deep in terms of story...) Whether you're a Kamen Rider fan or just someone who enjoys action figure model kits, this seems like a kit worth having some fun with. :-)
