Figurerise Standard

Kamen Rider Zi-O

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This is the Figure-rise Standard Kamen Rider Zi-O kit. While the simultaneously released Kamen Rider Faiz/Kabuto were upgraded versions of the older Figure-rise 6 kits, Zi-O is a completely new mold kit. The biggest difference from the Figure-rise 6-based Kamen Riders is that it doesn't use polycaps.

Dropping the polycaps has simplified the parts layout and made assembly quicker and easier. The joints do feel a bit stiffer compared to polycap-based kits, but joint strength actually feels more solid as a result. Articulation is pretty much on par with or without polycaps, but either way, posing has become more straightforward and the joints hold their positions better.

Accessories are on the sparse side compared to previous kits — the only weapon included is the Zikan Girade (the time-cutting blade), which can be switched between gun and sword mode. Beyond that, you get the new-style Action Base in clear material that was also included with Faiz/Kabuto, and 6 hand parts. That's pretty much it for options.

Thanks to the clean color separation and stickers, a straight build already looks great — which is similar to previous kits — but this one does stand apart in terms of parts layout and the feel of the joints. Being a fully new mold after five years, you can definitely sense a more refined level of quality, so if you're a Kamen Rider fan, go ahead and grab it without hesitation. :-)
