This kit is the Figure-rise Standard release of Metal Garurumon, and it's the 3rd Digimon Adventure kit following Omegamon and WarGreymon. Like those before it, the construction is completely unlike any other Figure-rise Standard kit, and honestly I still can't quite figure out why this series ended up under this lineup.
The contents stay true to a quadruped mecha build, with decent articulation in the legs and body. The tongue and claws feature gloss injection for some nice shiny accents, and you can remove the beam and weapons from the beam wings on the back, add the joint parts, and have them held in the mouth. A clear general-purpose stand is also included along with a dedicated joint part, so you can pose it in mid-air as well.
Looking at the joint construction, only a small number of polycaps are used, with most joints relying on plastic friction. This leads to some pretty uneven joint strength — there's a mix of loose and stiff joints, which makes posing a bit of a hassle. The shoulder joints in particular are two-stage, with the body-side being loose and the arm-side being stiff, so if you're not careful, it feels like the looser joint might snap.
As a rare quadruped mecha kit from Bandai, it's not a bad-looking build overall — aside from the uneven joint strength being a bit of a pain. Since it's essentially a fan-service kit for Digimon fans anyway, if you go in without high expectations for articulation, it should be a pretty fun build. :-)
