This kit is the Ultraman Suit Taro -Action- released in the Figure-rise Standard lineup. The overall composition and format are similar to previous kits, but this time it's an all-new mold with no recycled runners. The color scheme and styling have also shifted away from the Iron Man look, coming a bit closer to the original Ultraman feel.

Like before, you can choose between two torso options — the action-type or the LED-type. With the action-type, the mid-waist joint has been dropped (probably due to the design), and instead a joint that lets the upper chest tilt forward significantly has been added. That said, the hip joints are very flexible and the shoulder range of motion is wide, so this kit poses really well. The ankle articulation is a bit limited though, which makes ground-based poses a little tricky.

For weapons, only one Specium Lancer is included, along with flame effect parts for the head and hands. A clear stand for Figure-rise Standard is also bundled in, but if you want to use the flame effect parts, you'll need to borrow a separate smaller stand.

All in all, this is a solid and clean Ultraman kit that turned out really well — if you're a fan of the Ultraman series, it's definitely worth picking up and having some fun with. :-)
