Figurerise Standard

Suletta Mercury

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is Suletta Mercury released in the Figure-rise Standard series. She's the main character of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury — the first female protagonist Gundam pilot. She comes in her white Holder (top duelist at the academy) uniform.

First off, her distinctive spiky hair is nicely rendered with a good sense of volume, and one face with printed eyes via tampo printing is included. That said, the eyes have a pretty flat, "printed-on" look to them, so it'll probably be a love-it-or-hate-it thing for people. The other 2 blank faces require you to apply the eyes yourself using waterslide decals. Compared to Kotobukiya's girl-pla kits, which typically come with 3–4 pre-printed faces plus an additional 3–5 blank faces with waterslide decals, this feels a bit lacking in that department.

The overall construction follows the typical Figure-rise Standard formula and comes together nicely. The black and white of the costume are both well reproduced through color separation. As befitting a main character kit, engraving seals are applied to the gold markings on the shoulders, neck, and chest — these are the same kind of raised dry-transfer decals previously seen on select Club G MG kits, and they definitely give it a premium feel. Beyond that, the articulation and joint strength are solid for an action figure, and the accessories include a Haro with openable ears and a clear stand, so you can have a lot of fun posing her in all sorts of ways.

Aside from the whole love-it-or-hate-it thing with the pre-printed face, this is an overall clean and well-done Figure-rise Standard kit. If you enjoyed The Witch from Mercury, this seems like a fun build worth picking up. :-)
