This kit is the Gundam Base exclusive MG RX-78-2 Gundam (Perfect Gundam Ver.)[Anime Color]. It's essentially the inner Gundam runners from the standard release MG Perfect Gundam separated out on their own, with the molded color changed to a bright pastel anime color scheme.

The MG Perfect Gundam is an old kit from 2003, and back when it was released, the inner Gundam actually got more attention than the armor itself. At the time, the Ver.2.0 hadn't even come out yet, and this inner Gundam showed off a much more refined and well-balanced proportion than the MG Gundam Ver.1.0. The parts layout was simple — almost HG-level — yet the overall look was really solid, and plenty of people actually bought the MG Perfect Gundam just for this inner Gundam.

So even building it now, more than 20 years after release, it still delivers a surprisingly clean look that exceeds expectations. The parts structure and joints do feel a bit dated, but once it's all put together, it doesn't feel old at all. The one thing I'd gripe about is that the only accessories are 2 beam parts. That does limit the posing options quite a bit, but I think you can just see it as a kit that's entirely focused on the main body itself.

Either way, this is going to be a very welcome kit for anyone who's always wanted just the inner Gundam from the MG Perfect Gundam. If you're into that clean, distinctive style, this Gundam Base exclusive is definitely worth recommending :-)
